Aluminium Fascia Boards & Soffits

Most fascia and soffit installations default to uPVC. At Bespoke Guttering, we specialise in aluminium fascia boards and soffits — the material of choice for projects where longevity, fire resistance, and finish quality matter. We supply and install across London, Surrey, Kent, Essex, and Berkshire.

Why Choose Aluminium Fascia and Soffit Boards?

Aluminium outperforms uPVC on every durability metric. It will not crack, warp, or turn brittle — and carries a ZERO fire rating under BBA standards. The powder coat finish is chemically bonded to the metal surface rather than applied as a film, so colour holds for decades without fading or peeling. All our aluminium roofline products are backed by a 30-year guarantee and a British Board of Agreement certificate.
  • No cracking or warping — virtually unaffected by thermal movement; will not turn brittle in cold temperatures
  • ZERO fire rating — certified under BBA standards; uPVC will melt and contribute to fire spread
  • Marine grade alloy — corrosion resistant in coastal and urban environments
  • Bonded powder coat finish — colour chemically bonded into the surface, not a paint film; available in any RAL or BS colour
  • BBA certified — British Board of Agreement tested and approved
  • 30-year guarantee — all aluminium roofline installations backed by our guarantee and BBA certificate

What Aluminium Fascia Board Styles Are Available?

Aluminium fascia boards come in three profiles — Regular Lined, Ogee, and Plain — in widths from 6” (152mm) to 16” (406mm). The Ogee profile suits period and conservation area properties; Plain and Lined work on modern and traditional rooflines alike.

Regular Lined

Aluminium

Clean horizontal lines. The standard choice for most residential and commercial rooflines, working with both contemporary and traditional properties.

Ogee

Aluminium

A traditional decorative S-curve profile. Common on period properties and conservation area work where a more ornate fascia is required.

Plain (Smooth)

Aluminium

A flat-face profile with no surface detailing. Available up to 3mm thickness — the right choice where structural rigidity is a priority.

uPVC Profiles

Aluminium & uPVC

Flat, square, Ogee, and bullnose uPVC profiles also available in a range of heights and widths for straightforward domestic replacements.

All aluminium fascia boards are available in 3-metre lengths. Non-standard depths are available to order for non-standard rooflines.

What Colours Are Available for Aluminium Fascia and Soffit Boards?

Standard powder coat colours include anthracite grey, slate grey, jet black, white, and brown. Any RAL or British Standard colour can be ordered — useful for matching existing roofline finishes or meeting architectural specifications. Anthracite grey is the most popular choice on modern UK properties.
Anthracite Grey Most popular RAL 7016
Slate Grey RAL 7015
Jet Black RAL 9005
White RAL 9016
Brown RAL 8014

What Aluminium Soffit Boards Are Available?

The soffit sits beneath the fascia board and is typically the most visible roofline board from street level. We install solid soffits where no ventilation is required, and vented or perforated soffits where building regulations require airflow into the roof space. Available from 9” to 16” widths.

For pitched roofs of 30 degrees and above, current building regulations require ventilation equivalent to a continuous 10mm clear air gap. This is achieved using pre-vented or perforated soffit boards. For flat roofs or low-pitch roofs, a double-vented board is recommended.

New build and roof replacement: If you are unsure which soffit type your project requires — solid, vented, or perforated — call us before ordering. The wrong soffit type can cause building regulations non-compliance on new or replacement roofs.

Do You Install Aluminium Barge Boards?

Yes. Barge boards run along the gable ends of a property, protecting the exposed roof timber from weather. Where existing timber is structurally sound, we install aluminium capping boards directly over it — no full removal needed, reducing cost and disruption. Available in lengths up to 5 metres and powder coated to match your fascia and soffit finish.

Is uPVC Also Available?

Yes. While aluminium is our primary recommendation for performance and longevity, uPVC remains a practical option for straightforward domestic replacements where budget is the primary consideration. We supply and install flat, square, Ogee, and bullnose uPVC profiles in a range of heights and widths.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do aluminium fascia boards last?

Correctly installed aluminium fascia and soffit boards have a service life of 30 years or more. Aluminium does not degrade in UV light or turn brittle in cold temperatures — common failure points with uPVC. All our aluminium roofline installations are backed by a 30-year guarantee.

Can you fit aluminium fascia boards over existing timber?

In most cases, yes. Where the existing timber is structurally sound, aluminium capping boards can be fitted directly over it — often resulting in lower cost and less disruption than complete removal.

Do soffit boards need to be vented?

For pitched roofs of 30 degrees and above, building regulations require ventilation equivalent to a continuous 10mm clear air gap. This is achieved using pre-vented or perforated soffit boards. For flat or low-pitch roofs, a double-vented soffit is recommended.

What colours are available?

Standard options include anthracite grey (RAL7016), slate grey (RAL7015), jet black (RAL9005), white (RAL9016), and brown. Any custom RAL or British Standard colour is available to order.
