Seamless Aluminium Guttering: Frequently Asked Questions

About the productSeamless aluminium guttering is a continuous gutter system manufactured on site from a single coil of aluminium, pressed to the exact length of each elevation of your property. Unlike traditional sectional guttering, there are no joints along the body of the run — only at corners and end caps.
This eliminates the most common cause of gutter failure: joint leaks. The system is powder-coated for a scratch-resistant, fade-resistant finish that never needs repainting, and carries a 30-year insurance-backed guarantee.
Seamless aluminium guttering is roll-formed on site to the exact length needed — no joints in the run. Sectional aluminium guttering is cut to length in a factory and joined with clips and rubber seals during installation.
The key differences:
- Seamless — zero joints, zero leaks, 3 standard RAL colours, manufactured on site
- Sectional — has joints, available in any RAL colour, suited to projects needing an exact colour match
For most residential and commercial properties, seamless is the superior choice. Sectional aluminium is worth considering for listed buildings, heritage properties, or projects requiring a non-standard RAL colour. See our full guide: types of aluminium guttering.
BBA-certified seamless aluminium guttering is rated to last 30–50 years. Every system we install comes with a 30-year insurance-backed guarantee as standard.
Aluminium does not rust, does not become brittle in cold weather, does not warp in heat, and the powder-coated finish is resistant to UV degradation. Unlike UPVC, the material does not deteriorate with age — the lifespan is limited only by physical damage, which is rare.
Yes — across every performance metric over a 10 to 20-year period. Aluminium guttering lasts 30–50 years versus 10–20 years for UPVC, has no joints to fail or leak, never needs repainting, and is made from 90% recycled material.
Although the upfront cost of aluminium is higher, the total 20-year cost is comparable to UPVC once UPVC joint repairs and full system replacement are factored in. Over 30 years aluminium is substantially cheaper.

Seamless aluminium guttering is available as standard in the Ogee profile — the most popular shape in the UK, suited to both traditional and modern properties. Sectional aluminium is available in Ogee, Half Round, Square Line, and Deep Flow profiles.
Standard colours for seamless aluminium are:
- RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey (most popular)
- RAL 9005 Jet Black
- RAL 9010 White
Sectional aluminium guttering can be produced in any RAL colour. See our full types of aluminium guttering page for full profile and colour details.
Seamless aluminium guttering supply and installation starts from £35 per metre, including all corners, end caps, outlets, brackets, and fixings. For a typical 3-bedroom semi-detached property with approximately 30 metres of guttering, total installed cost is typically in the range of £900–£1,200.
All prices include on-site manufacture, full installation, and the 30-year insurance-backed guarantee. We offer free, same-day quotes — call 020 3539 0372 or submit an enquiry online.
A standard residential installation — typically a 3 to 4-bedroom property — is completed in a single day. The mobile roll-forming machine arrives at your property and manufactures each run of guttering on site to the exact measurements of your property before fitting.
Larger or more complex properties, or commercial installations, may require two days. We will confirm the expected duration when providing your quote.
We offer both supply and installation and supply only. We strongly recommend professional installation — seamless aluminium guttering requires a mobile roll-forming machine to manufacture on site, which is specialist equipment not available to general builders or DIY installers.
Installation by our team also activates the 30-year insurance-backed guarantee and BBA certification warranty. Supply-only orders without installation do not carry the same guarantee terms.
Every seamless aluminium guttering installation we carry out comes with a 30-year insurance-backed guarantee. This is backed by the British Board of Agrément (BBA) certification — the independent UK body that certifies construction products.
The guarantee covers the performance of the installed system including material integrity and workmanship. It is transferable if the property is sold during the guarantee period.
No painting is required at any point during the lifetime of the system. Seamless aluminium guttering is hydro powder-coated during manufacture with a finish that is scratch-resistant, fade-resistant, and UV stable. The coating does not peel, chalk, or discolour.
The only maintenance required is clearing debris — leaves, moss, and dirt — from the gutter channels. This applies equally to any guttering system and can be done during an annual roof inspection or gutter clean.
Yes. Because seamless aluminium guttering is roll-formed on site to the exact measurements of each elevation, it can accommodate irregular rooflines, long runs, multiple corners, unusual angles, and complex architectural features that would be difficult or impossible to fit with pre-cut sectional systems.
We install on all property types including:
- Standard residential — detached, semi-detached, terraced
- New builds and extensions
- Commercial properties — offices, schools, retail
- Listed and heritage buildings
- Industrial and warehouse properties
No. Aluminium does not rust. Unlike steel or cast iron guttering, aluminium is naturally resistant to corrosion. The powder-coated finish provides an additional protective layer, but even if the coating were scratched or damaged, the underlying aluminium would not rust or corrode under normal UK weather conditions.
This is one of the key reasons aluminium guttering outlasts UPVC, steel, and cast iron alternatives in the UK climate.

Yes — aluminium is the most sustainable guttering material available. Our seamless aluminium guttering is manufactured from approximately 90% recycled aluminium. At end of life the material is fully recyclable with no loss of quality, and recycling aluminium uses only 5% of the energy required to produce virgin aluminium.
Unlike UPVC, aluminium does not degrade to release microplastic particles, and most UPVC guttering ends up in landfill at end of life. For commercial properties with ESG reporting requirements, aluminium is the only credible choice.
